upcoming changes, PUSPAKOM wishes to clarify its deployment process for e-invoicing and

the implementation of Tax Identification Number (TIN).

Effective August 1, 2024, e-invoicing is set to become a national requirement mandated by

the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia (IRBM). This requirement aims to streamline tax

compliance processes across the country.

Contrary to recent confusion, it is important to note that e-invoicing is not a policy

implemented solely by PUSPAKOM, but rather a nationwide initiative mandated by the

IRBM. As part of its commitment to assisting their customers with this transition,

PUSPAKOM is proactively implementing the requirement of TIN starting July 25, 2024. This

early implementation is intended to facilitate a smooth transition for our customers and

ensure compliance ahead of the official deadline.

"We understand the importance of compliance with national regulations, and we are

committed to supporting our customers throughout this process. The early rollout at

PUSPAKOM will enable us to iron out any glitches that may occur", said Mahmood Razak

Bahman, CEO of PUSPAKOM.

Mahmood assures customers that the implementation of e-invoicing and TIN will not cause

delays or longer queues at PUSPAKOM inspection centres.

“The process of collecting the TIN is seamlessly integrated into the on-line booking stage

through MyPUSPAKOM website, rather than during the inspection itself. Customers only

need to update their TIN details on MyPUSPAKOM once, and future bookings will already be

as it is right now”, adds Mahmood.

IC NUMBER SUFFICIENT FOR INDIVIDUAL CUSTOMERS

Mahmood further explains that individual or private customers need not have TIN to make

inspection bookings with PUSPAKOM. Their National Registration Identity Card (NRIC) is

sufficient for booking purposes.

“To further clarify, for individuals, their TIN is actually the same as their individual tax file

numbers. Likewise, for companies, their TIN is equivalent of their company tax file number

typically used for tax filing purposes,” added Mahmood.

Individuals that are not taxpayers however may still use their NRIC number to make

bookings.

The process of obtaining a TIN for those who require it can be completed online at

www.mytax.hasil.gov.my . This includes foreigners as well as individuals who are not

registered taxpayers.
